So my first year of university has come to an end, and I have spent the whole day sleeping… In one year I have discovered what it’s like to be “stressed” for the first time ever; caught every cold going, including developing tonsilitis (also for the first time ever) – btw not fun and no ice-cream ; spent what seems to total up to about a week with no sleep; then finally I look back and think “THIS WAS SUCH A GOOD YEAR I CAN”T WAIT TO DO IT ALL AGAIN IN OCTOBER!”
I must be insane.

It’s Wednesday!! Which usually means we’ve past the toughest two days of the week, looking onwards and upwards to our beloved weekend. Except for me, my weekend is immediately followed by a presentation of my project to the entire class (all 112 of them), so I can only look forward to a weekend of late nights, no sleep and a lot of work. In our Contextual and Theoretical studies lessons last week we discussed the illustration strip Joe Sacco published in The Guardian newspaper on the 9th of January.
It is a quite long, though very thought-provoking article. Continue reading “Joe Sacco : On Satire – Response to the Charlie Hebdo attacks.”
I’ve been crafting away this New Years to help with a party my Sister had. I only brought some decorations, but it was good fun making them.
For something quick and easy that will fit perfectly as a table decoration or can be used as a prop for the photo booth. Continue reading “NYE”
We have submitted our books for moderation and are now left to wait…
I know I could of done so much more if I had just planned my days better, however nothing can be done and I will just have to pay the price of being lazy…
Out of all the experiments and recording my least favourite part is the annotation, I thouroughly detest writing, because of that I always forget to aknowledge my thought process, which, in turn, makes it very hard for the reader/ examiner to underdstand my book, way of thinking and ideas… That has to be the worst thing ever, how can they give marks on something incomprehendable?! Oh deary, deary me… I’m not expecting much of a grade this time round.
But for those who are curious as to what my book looked like, here are some pretty pictures.

I finished the project tuesday afternoon at 2 pm! I have been trying to catch up on sleep all week! We were briefed Monday around 2 pm and then released to try and collate ideas where we could express our interpritation as a whole. This took a while… Then we came up with the idea of ‘What happens when technology gets out of hand?’. We then agreed on separate tasks to focus on; mine was exploring the iPhone and we decided to recreate the contense of my phone in real life form, so I made a note pad with a yellow bar on the top for the ‘Notes’ app etc… This was our final display.
From left to right on the wall, Harry – story board, Ernest – info graphic, Sunny – app poster, Amy – story board. The things on the table where what I did.
On the table are my real life versions of apps…
(from left to right again)
You Tube, Safari, iBooks, Facebook,
Twitter, Snapchat, Calculator, Pinterest,
Clock, Instagram, Notes, Maps,
Message, Phone, Camera, Music
This took FOREVER! (all of the 24 hours)

Here I am finally on a train to Elephant and Castle! After awaking just an hour and a half before, I’ve managed to collect a sufficient amount of belongings to hopefully see me through the project… The prospect of not retuning home till tomorrow is mildly daunting, though I’m not entirely sure what we’re actually doing. Such a strange aura of suspense that’s only half formed, when you truly have no idea what your letting yourself in for. So for now I’m just glad to be on a train listening to the calming chugging along and the quite sighs and yawns of the morning.
The title of our first project…
Whilst recently enrolling on the BA (Hons) Illustration and Visual Media course at London College of communication, I was given a booklet containing the details of three projects and was told their will also be a fourth 24 hour assignment in a few weeks. Two are solo and one is a group effort. Each of the briefs are different with different names, the first of which is titled ‘What is it?’.
Involving trips to at least five different museums in London, ‘What is it?’ will lead me to discover various interesting relics from our past, then whittle it down to just one. With this one, I will endeavour to uncover all that I possibly can; the history beneath and the effect surrounding the desired object, presenting it in a 12 page booklet of my studio experiments encompassing my research.
So far I have bought a sketchbook and made a list of the Museums that catch my eye, so now… visiting time!
